LIGNO in the UA Global: Etsy Start Program

We are excited to announce that LIGNO, a wood products brand, has been selected as one of 500 participants in the UA Global: Etsy Start program. This initiative aims to support Ukrainian manufacturers by helping them enter the international market through the popular platform Etsy.
The project is implemented by the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine in collaboration with TECHBUREAU, Ukrposhta, the Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office, and with the support of Etsy.
Program goal
UA Global: Etsy Start seeks to help Ukrainian manufacturers expand their business opportunities on the global stage. Participants in the program gain access to the knowledge and resources necessary to create and grow successful Etsy shops.
The program offers practical training based on real-world cases, mentorship support, and the opportunity to experiment with advertising campaigns. Over the course of two months, all program participants will be able to strengthen their brands and prepare for global sales.
Key benefits of participation
Participation in the program will allow LIGNO to:
– Learn new business methods in an international environment;
– Gain insights into the opportunities and challenges of the global market;
– Attract new partnerships and investors;
– Receive expert support in international trade and marketing.
In addition to practical financial support and training, the Etsy Start program provides participants with the opportunity to learn from top sellers, attend workshops on mobile photography, sustainable production, collaborations, and AI-powered content creation.
This approach will help LIGNO not only expand its international presence but also do so responsibly and sustainably, aligning with global trends in sustainable development.
LIGNO among other program participants
The 500 lucky participants selected for the program are entrepreneurs from across Ukraine who produce handmade goods, ranging from jewelry and home decor to clothing, footwear, and even niche products like collectible puzzles or meteorite-based jewelry. More than 80% of participants are women-owned businesses. Many entrepreneurs plan to actively expand their teams and increase sales channels. A positive trend toward implementing sustainable and socially responsible business practices is also evident.
Future plans
For LIGNO, participation in Etsy Start is a crucial step toward business growth and entry into new markets. We plan to actively develop the LIGNO brand, enhance our products, and improve production processes to meet the demands of a global audience. With the knowledge and support gained from the program, we are preparing to conquer new export markets, presenting high-quality wooden products made in Ukraine.
