The Lighthouse of Alexandria or Pharos Lighthouse is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This lighthouse was both a fortress-outpost of Alexandria in Egypt, and an observation point, since from its top they watched the enemy fleet approaching the city. The lighthouse was built 20 years in the middle of the III millennium BC and it became the tallest building in the ancient world, except for the pyramids of Giza.
